Lone Star’s progressive training program focuses on a comprehensive learning style and the practical application of developed skills.  The program is divided into four separate training schools that vary in depth of content and time commitment.  Any Officer going through the entire program must pass prerequisite courses before progressing to the next level of training.  Individuals graduating from Lone Star’s training program are well-equipped with the necessary skills and proficiencies to face any on-the-job challenge required in today’s security and safety fields.

DELTA “On Boarding”

Delta School is a standard “awareness” and basic special events course covering company orientation, ethics and protocols of customer service, as well as an overall understanding of security concepts and basic incident response procedures.  This school is designed as an introduction to Lone Star Security & Safety operations for new employees and covers:

  • Company History and Vision
  • Company Culture
  • Human Resources
  • Customer Service
  • Introduction to Situational Awareness
  • Basic Emergency Response
  • Event Security

CHARLIE “Core Competencies”

Charlie School is the second level of instruction in the Lone Star training sequence.  It is a more advanced program of training and education specific to security and life safety and is customized for specialty trainings.  Such trainings can include access control for operation of X-ray screening equipment, ID validation, facility loss prevention, and first responder skills.  Charlie School emphasizes behavioral response, first responder, security officer standard procedures, health and safety, investigations, and incident report writing.

Charlie School includes three stages:

Stage 1 covers core competencies of the professional security officer, including::

  • Human Relations
  • Aggressive Behavior Recognition and De-Escalation
  • Incident Response
  • Preliminary Investigations and Report Writing
  • Workplace Health and Safety
  • Fire Watch and Prevention
  • Standard Security Procedures

Stage 2 covers CPR, First Aid, and AED for adults, children and infants.

Stage 3 encompasses all security training requirements for Lone Star personnel requiring additional, contract specific   training. These modules are tailored to the specific needs of the client. Examples of topics covered include but not limited to the following:

  • Access Control Screening (ID Checking, X-Ray Screener, Bag Searches, Metal Detectors and Wands)
  • Club & Event Security
  • Retail Loss Prevention
  • Public Safety

BRAVO “Advanced Competencies”

Bravo School provides advanced competencies for the security specialist, including safety and security leadership, management techniques, risk management, crisis intervention, and defensive tactics. Students passing this course become qualified in leadership and physical intervention techniques. Bravo School is designed to train future leaders in the safety and security industry as well as provide exceptional training and review on firearms and force continuum.

In order to remain Bravo-qualified, security officers are expected to attend regularly held ongoing training in firearm safety and qualification shooting as well as ongoing practice of skills learned.

ALPHA “Personal Protection Specialist”

Alpha School is a three-week training course to prepare officers for professional close protection, often referred to as Executive Protection or Bodyguarding. The course of instruction utilizes state-of-the-art techniques taught by experienced and fully certified instructors.  Upon successful completion of the Alpha School, officers attending the course will be certified as an personal protection specialist.  Alpha School is designed to be challenging and informative, requiring the student to draw upon all of their skills, senses, and education to reach new heights in overall ability. To achieve the personal protection specialist certification, each student is required to perform all the necessary functions expected of an personal protection specialist (PPS) and pass a series of comprehensive written and practical tests with proficient performance as well as a ongoing assessment throughout the training and beyond.

Alpha School is broken down into three seperate weeks of training:

  • Week 2: Fundaments of a Protection Specialist
  • Week 3: Protection Specialist Firearms Defensive Tactics
